What is the Bible Master Award?

The Bible Master Award, (also known as the Master Seal), is a great way to recognize an individual's efforts in mastering the questions and answers from the Bible Fact-Pak.

The Bible Master Program allows individuals to improve their knowledge and understanding of the Bible but can also be used in group settings. It can be used along with Sunday School curriculum, in Children's Church, in Christian schools, at camps, and in other children's ministries programs. It's a wonderful activity for families to do together. Each family member can be working on his or her own level while studying the information together. Many families have used the Bible Fact-Pak for their family devotions and in homeschooling. Not only can the Bible Master Program be used with children but it can also recognize adults who have mastered the material in the Bible Fact-Pak. Achievement is recognized through the award certificate and accompanying seals.

Overseeing the Program

One or more persons should be selected to oversee the awards program and check the individual's mastery of knowledge. The Bible Fack-Pak software can be used to generate question sets for each of the seals. Another option is to use the Bible Fact-Pak cards.

If using the Bible Fact-Pak cards, they should be separated by point value, placed in three different containers, and thoroughly mixed. The cards are drawn one at a time, beginning with the 10-point cards. Ask the questions until the individual has satisfactorily completed the level requirements or has exceeded the maxiumum number of errors. If the individual is unable to complete a level, encourage the person to work for at least a week on the questions and then try again. The individual may try as many times as needed to complete a level. The goal is for the individual to learn and understand the questions and answers.

Presenting the Award

Because the Master Seal reflects a great achievement, it should be presented in a fitting ceremony. One option is to award the seal in front of the entire congregation, and provide a frame in which to place the certificate. Explain to the congregation what the Master Seal is all about and what the recipient has accomplished.

Beyond the Master Seal - Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in the Beyond the Master Seal program?

A child does not have to be a quizzer to participate. Any child can study and learn the material in the Bible Fact-Pak and earn the awards. Even adults who have mastered the Bible Fact Pak can be awarded. The only requirement is that a person must have earned the Master Seal before attempting to earn one of the Beyond the Master Seal awards.

May the testing for the awards be broking down into different days?

Testing for each award must be done in one time period on the same day with only short periods being allowed for bathroom breaks and rest to refocus. The individual may not study or look at the Bible Fact Pak during these breaks.

May an individual qualify for more than one award during a test period?

An individual can only be tested for one award at a time and only one test may be given per day.

Who may administer the Beyond the Master Seal test?

One or more persons should be selected by the JBQ or church leadership to oversee the testing for these awards. The person administering the test should not be an immediate family member to the person being tested.

What recognition will be received for earning one of these awards?

Upon receiving notification, the national JBQ office will send a letter of recognition and a certificate to the recipient. The recipient’s name will be placed on the national JBQ website. Since mastering the Bible is a great accomplishment, we encourage churches to give special recognition to the individual in front of the church body.

How does one receive recognition from the national office for a Beyond the Master Seal award?

To receive recognition from the national JBQ office, complete the application and submit it to the national JBQ office by e-mail or regular mail.    Beyond the Master Seal Application (pdf)
